Gold Video Logo and Advertisement

Gold Video is a fictional movie/video game rental company I created so I could design the branding and style I would bring to a company like this. On the right is the logo I designed in the beginning. It was created in Illustrator, and my main focus was to create something bold and colorful, mimicking the style that is usually associated with 70’s rock concert fliers. I wanted something that could easily be replicated into different colors schemes and that I could see young people liking purely for the aesthetic of it. The colors of the teeth are based on colors I found while researching blank VHS cover art. The advertisement was created in InDesign, and was heavily inspired by in-your-face, attitude-filled video game magazine ads of the 90’s.
